UPCOMING! Dr. Dog at Cabaret du Mile-End

UPCOMING! Dr. Dog at Cabaret du Mile-End  |  Wednesday January 29th

Apparently, Dr. Dog core members Scott McMicken and Toby Leaman have never played covers, despite starting to play alongside each other in eighth grade. Not bad. It's probably that kind of stubborn determination that makes these two men's project so smooth, so effortlessly hypnotizing.

Some would be quick to label Dr. Dog's most recent music as indie rock, but your music-loving dad who likes his 60s and 70s jammy rock might just accuse you of inventing new names for genres that exist already. Their sound is indeed very warm, very floaty, it has the colour of the 1970s, undeniably.

Apparently, prior to signing with ANTI-records in 2009, these guys shared a studio with Bill Moriarty, who is credited with having helped them to figure out how to use their gear to achieve that sound.

A few albums later, they are still doing wonders, as their new record B-Room will be quick to show you. If you fancy a live show, you should put January 29th on your calendar. Cabaret du Mile-End, 7:30 PM.
