UPCOMING! Then and Now, by SUUNS and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh

UPCOMING! Then and Now, by SUUNS and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, at MAC (POP)

Things are going pretty well for local murky rock act Suuns. Their loopy, atmospheric, house-flavoured rock seems to be what people want right now. It’s probably because, beyond any effort to put their music in a more or less specific category, Suuns just sounds like Suuns. Not many bands oscillate between that sharp, crisp sound, and that floating and kind of blurry dreaminess with that with much confidence, that much dexterity, and especially with such a minimal approach. There are very few elements in their spaced out oeuvre, but all of them count. In brief, if Suuns will probably evoke certain other bands you might have heard, you will nevertheless come to realize they have an undeniable uniqueness.

Some of you might remember we quite enjoyed the show last time we saw them. There is a reason why these guys’ tour took them to SXSW, one sold out show at a time. Indeed, a live performance from these gloomy fellows is likely to leave quite an impression on most show dwellers. It's a feast for both the eyes and the ears, to say the least.

Apparently, they decided to take things to the next level. On September 26th, they will present a conceptual art installation along with Radwan Ghazi Moumneh at Musée d’art contemporain. The title is Then and Now, and, quite honestly, we are just as curious as you are.

Sounds promising, anyway. Thank you POP.
