UPCOMING! Nine Inch Nails at Bell Centre

UPCOMING! Nine Inch Nails at Bell Centre  | Thursday October 3rd

Trent Reznor’s reputation is pretty stellar, to say the least. Throughout the years, the man has acquired the status of living legend, the kind of highly respected glory that only a handful of musicians manage to get in the space of any given generation. Hell, most people who listen to badass electronic bass music and electro-infused heavy rock nowadays most probably used to trip over Nine Inch Nails' ripping riffs, thunderous drum hits, and mean-ass grooves. With reason.

Now what? More greatness, it would seem. Two Grammys, 30 million records sold, and a spot on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time later, Trent is still going strong, still making music news, for all kinds of reasons. For instance, you might have heard that he was cited saying he was first weirded out, and then quite moved by Johnny Cash’s version of his song Hurt. His 2007 ‘f**k you’ to Columbia Records, after which he started distributing his music independently, did not go unnoticed either. His new habit to sometimes give away his music online, often through Creative Commons licenses, also made the headlines.

And now, 2013, after 5 long years without any releases, here comes a brand new Nine Inch Nails album, Hesitation Marks, this one sold online for the price of a pitcher of beer.

I think I speak for everyone who was a teenager in the 90s when I say ‘F**K YEAH!’ Bell Centre, October 3rd. Opening for them is cinematic progressive rock act Explosions in the Sky. Be. There.
